The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book is rated fabulous the world over and I promise you it was NOT the hype that made me dislike it. While it began fascinating enough, it soon lost out on its grip over me. The character of Christopher was extremely well written - his speech and thoughts written in a sort of stream of consciousness. That requires both research and skill!
However, the story didn't hold me captive. Something about it got dry and I felt impatient to finish and move on to the next. It was such a short book, but it took me a painfully long time to complete. I suspect it is just not my type of book, although it had the marks of being one!
